11.06.06 WHAT WAS ESPN THINKING?
As many of you know, I love the Seahawks. However, you're spared hearing about my lame-ass love for a lame-ass team, because I have a separate forum where I can admit to liking the Seahawks. Plus they tend to stay out of jail and not do drugs, so I don't have many excuses to cover them here. But tonight they're the only football show in town, so I'm going to take a moment to address this Monday Night Football selection.
I know the 'Hawks are the reigning NFC champs and all, but really, whose idea was it to make Oakland-Seattle the Monday night game? It's almost like ESPN chooses matchups not by which teams will be playing, but by which video clips they can use to hype the game up. Memo to ESPN: we no longer care about the fact that Bo Jackson scored two touchdowns in the Kingdome on a Monday night twenty years ago. These teams are no longer division rivals, nor even conference rivals. They're two West Coast markets that won't keep the attention of your precious East Coast viewers. You have wasted our time and your money by airing this game.
Of course, I'm going to watch it. How can I not? Seneca Wallace, Andrew Walter, Maurice Morris — this game has got some of the NFL's hottest young falling stars. Plus we'll get Mike Holmgren and Al Davis in HD! What's not to love?
NOTE: I can't be sure, but I think that picture of Al Davis was taken twenty years ago. Watch out, ladies: he's single! Rawr! Liver spots are the new black.

Seattle is playing Oakland on Monday Night Football because as we all know Roger Goodell secretly switched SNF and MNF. All the crappy games are now on monday with the classics on sunday night after we’re already burnt out on football.
I blame the lack of jews.
MNF promised that Art Shell will blink in tonite’s game.
Be There!!!
Anyone else notice that the Raiders’ on-field product has come to resemble the interior of Al Davis’ underpants?
I go back & forth between being a) happy that my Raiders aren’t a complete & utter embarrassment - they’ve won TWO afterall - & b) pissed that they probably won’t have the number one draft pick to fuck up royally. And, related to nothing I’ve just said, I randomly found this news about Ms. Johansson, who seems to keep showing up here. http://www.junkiness.com/?p=980
I think Al Davis actually died a few years back and his mummified body is being puppeteered by a bunch of Bay-area businessmen who are desperately trying to keep the NFL from returning to LA
that knee-to-nuts play may have made that bore of a game almost worthwile. oh, and the seahawks won. that always makes people here in seattle happy.
I need to correct what I said yesterday - the Raider offense is indeed a complete & utter embarrassment. (And, it hurts me.) The defense should kill them all in their sleep. You know that Sapp has considered it.
I think you should change the name of this site to ‘With Vinegar’.
Al Davis will be starring in the new “Weekend at Bernie’s” movie. Randy Moss was supposed to be in it, but he quit halfway through.
Did anyone see Kornheiser’s Raider Montage at the beginning of the game? They were really trying hard to justify why this team is on Monday Night Football for the 2nd time this year…and being shutout for the 2nd time.
I thought you had to win to get on MNF? What did they do last year to even deserve this?
