09.21.06 Some Guy Really Cares about the Ryder Cup

A British bookie has revealed that one of his bettors laid out £247,000 (about $465K) for the U.S. to win the Ryder Cup. Hmmm… laying money on a pissed-off Tiger Woods: probably smart. Laying money on Phil Mickelson to come through: Sir, are you sure you want to place that bet?

This is like that one time I borrowed $5000 from the Yakuza to bet on the 2004 election. Thank God Kerry covered. I think some of those dudes had nunchuks.

Note: This picture is of David Toms and his wife Sonya. I'm not sure if Toms is playing in the Ryder Cup, and I can't confirm rumors that Sonya isn't sexually satisfied and is looking for someone who once laid his life on the line in the service of his Corps and country, but I think you can read between the lines. Sonya was one of the golf wives whom The Dubliner said bad things about a few days ago, so it's kind of relevant to this story. Not that I should have to justify putting up a picture of a hot chick in a bikini. And sorry, I guess I should have cropped Mr. Toms out of that picture. Nice sweater vest, champ.
